Hello, loved ones. On December 5, I will be running in this year’s Hot Chocolate Run to benefit Safe Passage, a Northampton organization that provides important services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence.
This is the third year I've run in this race, and the first time I'm asking friends and family to make a donation. A few months ago I noticed a small plaque in the sidewalk on Center Street, right across from the police station, dedicated to the memory of a woman who died on that spot in the late 1990s. It was a jarring reminder of the violence that many women and children suffer, even in our little community. So, if you can, please sponsor me in this run and help support Safe Passage.
I sincerely hope that I did not just add you to any mailing lists that will be difficult to escape.
Thanks!
Claire
Safe Passage is the organization in Hampshire County building safety, hope and justice for families who have lived with domestic violence. Adults and kids come to Safe Passage for a variety of programs: an emergency shelter, counseling and support groups, legal advocacy, and so much more. We also work to prevent domestic violence before it happens through our community engagement programs. We hope you'll join us in our work by making a donation! Learn more at our
