Dear Friends,
On October 14, my husband, Jeff, and I will participate in the "Tour de Midnight" benefit bike ride in honor of our friend, Elizabeth Dalton, who has Epilepsy. We have known Elizabeth and her family for the past 18 years, and have great admiration and respect for Elizabeth as she lives a full life, despite uncontrolled seizures. The following is from her father, Michael, in his invitation for us to participate in the ride:
"This year’s event has something everyone can get excited about….dogs. The proceeds from this year’s event will go toward providing Seizure Dogs or grants to help offset the cost of securing a seizure dog to individuals who do not have their seizures under control. These animals are truly amazing and provide a tremendous service but can cost between $17-$25k to fully train and secure a seizure dog.
My daughter Elizabeth continues to fight the good fight but still has not been able to get her seizures under control. In June of this year she had a Neuropace Stimulator implanted in her head. We are very hopeful this device will provide some relief from her seizures. She continues to amaze us with her positive attitude and desire to gain awareness for Epilepsy and to help others."
You are receiving this email as one of a select group who know us to be sincere in our commitment to friends and family. Thank you for your consideration of our efforts.
Fondly,
Teresa Given
