Dear Friends & Family, Welcome to our JDRF ODRAM fundraising page!
We're taking part in the 2018 ODRAM, along with hundreds of riders from around the world, to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Our son Luke has type 1 diabetes. He was diagnosed at age nine. We have seen first hand the many struggles that T1D patients endure on a daily basis. Diabetes is not something we would wish on any person.
Many people have been training hard to ride ODRAM & raise awareness for T1D. Please consider donating to JDRF, or even just take some time this date & do something to move toward more optimal health. Take care of yourself, be good to yourself, and keep moving.
Did you know T1D:
- Strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.
- Occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy.
- Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
JDRF is working every day to change this. And every dollar I raise helps them continue to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.

ODRAM (One Day Ride Across Michigan)
Be a part of one of the Michigan traditions - 150ish miles in one day or One Day Ride Across Michigan.
You can start by dipping your rear wheel in Lake Michigan and finish by dipping your front wheel in Lake Huron. This ride is a benefit for the JDRF - Working to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. To learn more about JDRF and the West Michigan Chapter visit http://greatlakeswest.jdrf.org/
