On Jun 15-16th 2018, I'm cycling 100 miles in Le Tour de Shore to Support Maywood Fine Arts.
Since 1979, Lois and Ernie Baumann, and Maywood Fine Arts, have provided low-income families with affordable classes in arts, dance, drama, music, tumbling and voice. Today over 1000 children are enrolled in arts and fitness classes. Only 40% of expenses are covered by tuition. The rest comes from grants and donations. Many students receive a full or partial tuition scholarships.

Le Tour de Shore
Le Tour de Shore is 2-day 100 mile charity bike ride from Millennium Park, Chicago, IL to the Indiana Dunes, and then, on day 2, to City Beach, New Buffalo, MI. Our route features dedicated lakefront, duneland bike paths, and scenic Harbor Country secondary roads.
Proceeds to benefit Maywood Fine Arts, Maywood, IL, a not-for-profit organization providing programs in art, dance, drama, music, tumbling and voice to children in the Chicago area. Check out this video, and you will understand why this place is so important.
The mission of Maywood Fine Arts is to provide affordable, quality arts and fitness education that will enrich and transform the lives of children and their families in Maywood and surrounding communities.
Maywood Fine Arts began in 1979 with one couple, Ernie & Lois Baumann, and their dream to open a vibrant center of arts activity in Maywood. They saw a need to provide low-income families with affordable and fun educational activities, starting with Stairway of the Stars dance studio and Mr. Ernie’s Flip, Flop & Fly tumbling school. In 1996 with the help of concerned parents and community members, Maywood Fine Arts Association, a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation, was established.
