Thank you for visiting my King Challenge fundraising page! This will be my 9th year riding in this event in support of Krempels Center and the King Family. As I did in 2018 I will ride the 2019 King Challenge in my father’s memory as well as other friends and family members who are living with or have passed from the effects of brain injury.
In November 2015 my family experienced first-hand the tragic effects brain injury can have on an individual. Shortly after the 2015 King Challenge my father suffered a severe stroke while visiting my sister’s family in Florida. The effects of the stroke changed my father’s mental health and sent him on a downward spiral. He was unable to recover and heal from this and passed away two years later in November 2017. My family and I miss him every day. I regret that my father did not have the opportunity to spend time with the good folks and meet the community of survivors at the Krempels Center.
The Krempels Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with acquired brain injury. ABI is defined as brain damage caused by events after birth, typically from trauma or stroke. TBI is a major cause of death and disability in the United States and those who survive TBI can face effects that last a few days, or the rest of their lives.
The King Challenge is one of Krempels Centers major fundraisers of the year and I am honored to support Krempels Center through this awesome event. Approximately 85% of its members receive a scholarship to attend the Krempels Center, with about 50% coming free of charge and the success of the King Challenge allows them the ability to provide these scholarships and services to all brain injury survivors regardless of financial ability.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support - and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
