Hello friends and family!
This year I am running the VT100 in memory of my friend, Beth Lazor-Smith. She was an avid athlete who was passionate about fundraising, and most of her running and cycling events were for charity. She taught me perserverence and grit, honesty and kindness. She never let anyone around her give anything less than their best, including me. She was standing next to me at me at my wedding, she encouraged me when I bit off big goals, and she never ceased in reminding me how important it was to be an active participant in life. When disease robbed her of running and cycling, she walked. She never let anything stop her. She supported Vermont Adaptive each time I sent her my fundraising page, and this year I will feel her beside me every step of the way.
While I have spent hours, days, months and even years training for this event, it is something that I have been passionate about. There are people out there for whom just getting out to walk can be a challenge. People who need a little extra assistance to meet the challenge that brings health, fun and passion to their lives. Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports provides sports and recreational programs as well as wellness and environmental retreats to people with disabilities. Their programs are offered to people of all ages, with a variety of disabilities. Programs include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and Nordic in the winter; and sailing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more in the warmer months.
Please consider donating what you can to help me reach my goal and help Vermont Adaptive meet their goal, and make Beth proud.
Thank you!
