The Dawn of Grady
Prior to November, 2017, we had never stepped foot in Grady Hospital. After Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, that all changed. Our friend, Dawn Keon, a resident of Culebra, PR, was severely burned while heating an MRE (Meals Ready to Eat supplied by FEMA). If you know us, you know our love for Culebra. We had only met Dawn briefly on Culebra, but as Southern hospitality dictates, if you end up in our "backyard", We've got your back. We first visited Dawn just after Thanksgiving and last just before Christmas when she was transferred to a longer-term rehab facility closer to her family in Colorado.. To say we were impressed with Grady is an understatement. Dawn's treatment while there was nothing short of specatular.
Lewis and Debbie are excited to share that we will be riding in VeloCity, Atlanta’s newest cycling event benefitting Grady Hospital, on May 5, 2018. We’ll be riding 25 miles and have committed to raise $1,000 in support of Grady’s lifesaving care.
Atlanta would not be here without Grady, and this new event is a great opportunity for us all to show our support. 100% of the funds we raise will go directly to patient care and support critical services such as trauma, stroke, burn and neonatal intensive care.
