As a supporter of New England Bicycle Racing I would ask you to join me in supprting the work NEBRA does in making our region the best place in the country for competetive cycling.
NEBRA Annual Support Drive
If you race road or cyclocross; if you ride a road bike, cross bike, fat bike or mountain bike; if you participated in a race, a club ride, a grand fondo or even commuted by bike this year in New England, chances are you benefited from the work that NEBRA does. As the recognised USA Cycling racing authority in New England, we’ve been working hard all year to keep your cycling world spinning.
Some of our 2019 accomplishments were:
Invested in our New England community by Distributing 40% more in grants than 2018, and 89% more than 2017, helping developing events support underserved fields, provide motorcycle referees and marshalls, and rider clinics
Reduced event costs for Event Directors and helped them put on safer events by resetting the ‘sunset provision’ on moto grants to allow all event directors access to full funding for 2019 to help offset increased mileage costs for motorcycles
Invested in professional development for our Officiating community by Co Hosting the Northeast Officials Symposium along with NYSBRA
Rewarded our racing community through our season-long NEBRA Rankings p/b by BikeReg Series- awarding custom Champions Jerseys across 14 categories
Kept communication flowing throughout the year by expanding our biweekly email newsletter list to more than 3300 subscribers
Supported the next generation of racers by providing course equipment at USA Cycling’s 2019 New England Cyclocross Talent ID Camp
Reached out to new riders through our attendance at the RaceMania Multi-sport expo where we promoted NEBRA, USA Cycling and our local events
Reduced the amount of paperwork required for Event Directors and speeded the registration process by supporting the roll out of Online Waivers to New England
Assigned and trained officials, permitted events, and administered racing categories for more than 115 events and 2350 racers in New England
And in 2020, we’ve got more planned:
NEBRA will be expanding our contracted USA Cycling oversight into mountain biking, supporting Event Directors, coordinating the racing calendar and providing the best possible customer service for all disciplines of the sport
We will continue to train and educate Officials through the Northeast Officials Symposium and will provide Officials Continuing Education Grants
Continue to improve our communication, specifically pre- and post-event communication with Event Directors - with more marketing help, and helping make the post event processes simpler
Support programs bringing diversity and inclusion to our cycling community in partnership with USA Cycling’s Local Association Grant Program
Continue building a library of Best Practices materials for riders, officials and event directors to ensure consistent quality events throughout New England and across the calendar
Continue our outreach to the mountain bike, gravel and triathlon communities to promote NEBRA events, NEBRA clubs and membership in USA Cycling
