On Memorial Day Weekend our community will unite for a special Rebecca’s Giddy Up Challenge that benefits COVID-19 relief via the Be Good™ Foundation. Together we will use our bicycles as a catalyst for healing, empowerment and evolution. Registration fees and additional fundraising will go to our beneficiaries providing bikes for frontline healthcare workers, cycling infrastructure for transportation and to support research for a COVID-19 vaccine.
I am aiming to raise $1 for every foot of elevation gained. My goal is to climb 15,885 feet with my one leg!
Sadly, we have learned that one of the complications of COVID is blood clots that result in limb loss. I am highly motivated to do what I can to support finding a vaccine for many reason. Preventing limb loss is just one. As an amputee and doctor of physical therapy, I know the power of movement and exercise. This is an amazing opportunity to show the World just how capable we all are.
Join me as well as other cyclists and runners across the country outdoors or virtually as we use our abilities to help others.
Thank you for donating to my fundraising efforts!
Rebecca's Giddy Up Challenge
On Memorial Day Weekend our community will unite for a special Rebecca’s Giddy Up Challenge that benefits COVID-19 relief via the Be Good™ Foundation. Together we will use our bicycles (or running shoes) as a catalyst for healing, empowerment and evolution. Registration fees and additional fundraising will go to our beneficiaries providing bikes for frontline healthcare workers, cycling infrastructure for transportation and to support research for a COVID-19 vaccine.
Participants can ride or run (outdoors or indoors) the elevation of one of 4 climbing challenges. We will use a Strava Club as the leaderboard.
Starting Friday, May 22nd 12:01am MST to Monday, May 25th 11:59pm MST Rebecca Rusch will set out to ride multiple laps on the infamous RPI Trail Creek hill climb with the goal of climbing the equivalent elevation of Mount Everest (29,092’) in a single day. This type of challenge is called “Everesting” and it’s incredibly difficult. Join Rebecca wherever you are! Choose your distance and your discipline and Giddy Up! Together we’ll motivate each other and pedal/run for purpose.
Prizing: Awards will be presented to top female and male finishers in each category and in each discipline, along with the top 3 fundraisers.
The Be Good™ Foundation enriches communities by using the bike as a catalyst for healing, empowerment and evolution. The projects we support create opportunities for personal discovery, outdoor exploration, community building and humanitarian service at local, national and global levels.
