I am extremely excited to participate in the Ride for Mental Health again - 3rd year in a row! This event inspires me every year and unites two of my passions: interest in mental health and love for cycling. I work at McLean Hospital as a researcher studying brain circuit changes underlying mental disorders with focus on anxiety and posttraumatic disorder. I don't own a car and cycle everywhere for my commute and for pleasure for the last 11 years all year around first during my studies in Finland and now here in Massachusetts, USA.
COVID-19 has affected mental health and emotional distress of many people. If you would like to get involved, please donate, share, or join the ride! All the donations go to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, to support research, educational and clinical programs to fight against mental illness. Thank you all for your generous support: any little amount goes a long way and is greatly appreciated!
The Ride for Mental Health 2020
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
Eric's Ride Inc. is a New York not for profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status. 100% of rider pledges will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.
