Northwestern DA's Office
The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to serving the people of Hampshire and Franklin counties and the town of Athol through rigorous, fair prosecutions and progressive prevention and intervention efforts.
The dedicated prosecutors and staff are committed to protecting the public and advocating for victims of crime.
Although the primary responsibility of the Office is prosecuting crime, we also have a strong focus on progressive education and prevention efforts in the areas of domestic violence, child abuse, juvenile justice, elders and people with disabilities.
We are the law office of the People and are steadfast guardians of the rights and liberties of every citizen. We will advocate for making our communities safer and stronger, while protecting civil rights and promoting social justice.
Legal Food Frenzy
The Legal Food Frenzy (LFF) is a fundraising competition to support our neighbors facing hunger. Bar Associations, District Attorney’s Offices, and other legal organizations of all sizes are invited to compete. Every $1 raised can provide 4 meals for a neighbor in need.
The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts believes everyone has a right to healthy food regardless of their circumstances. Serving Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties, The Food Bank is the leader of the region’s emergency food network. With the COVID-19 crisis rapidly evolving, the Food Bank is planning for greater risk — ordering more food for increased demand and following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Infection (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (Mass. DPH) to safely distribute food. As schools close, many children are without free school meals and seniors face the highest risk of COVID-19 complications. The Food Bank’s goal is to supply emergency food to all four counties of the region as safely as possible.

The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts
Since 1982, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. We distribute food to our member agencies in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties. These independent pantries, meal sites and shelters are on the front lines of emergency food assistance in our region, playing a crucial role helping individuals, families, seniors and children. Every $1 donated to The Food Bank can purchase 4 meals for a family who needs them most.
