Will Bike 4 Food is happening again this year, and I'm riding once again, but of course the COVID-19 pandemic prevents this from being a group event, so every rider designs their own routes. Instead of coming up with a 100-mile course to ride in one day, my goal for this year is to ride at least 400 miles during the month of September. Specifically, I am planning on going for 8 rides that will each be at least 50 miles.
My fundraising goal is $1000, as it has often been in the past. Because of the economic effects of the pandemic, it may be harder for people to donate, but it's also the case that there is more need than ever for the Food Bank's services. The Food Bank served 16% more people in need of food assistance from March to June of this year than in previous years, and it is expected that the number will grow even more by the end of the year.
As I did last year, I will match donations that people make to my ride - dollar for dollar. I will do so whether or not the total donations received meet my $1000 goal. But, if donations do reach the $1000 goal by the end of September, I will put in extra ride miles in early October.
Please help me help the Food Bank!

Since 1982, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. We distribute food to our member agencies in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties. These independent pantries, meal sites and shelters are on the front lines of emergency food assistance in our region, playing a crucial role helping individuals, families, seniors and children. Every $1 donated to The Food Bank can purchase 4 meals for a family who needs them most.
