Who among us doesn't either struggle with mental illness or know someone who does? Imagine a world where we didn't call it a struggle. Imagine instead if we understood it as an illness, talked about treatments and normalized it in a way that encouraged people to seek out care. Imagine if we could break the stigma. Imagine how many people wouldn't be struggling in silence. Imagine the difference it would make.
Please join me in helping to make this a reality. The Ride for Mental Health is organized by volunteers, and 100% of your gift goes to support education, research and treatment at McLean Hospital. This will be my third year riding and raising funds for this cause, and each year, the funds raised and the change made continues to grow. Together, we can break the stigma.
The Ride for Mental Health 2023
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
