El Tour de Tucson, Tucson’s 100 mile bike ride, is the weekend before Thanksgiving. 'Seems like an apt time to reflect!
I’m lucky to be able to ride it- lucky to have a good bike, to have my body holding up, to have the support of my husband Sam, to have a smooth and safe bike trail on which to train.
Whether talking about bike riding, or about specific challenges, or about life in general, many people are not so lucky, and may not have resources, emotional and practical support, or a smooth pathway.
I’m honored to be riding in support of TIHAN, Tucson Interfaith HIV AIDS Network, a coalition of individuals, businesses, faith communities, and groups that provide community resources and caring support so that people with HIV can live well.
TIHAN's legacy stretches back to 1994. TIHAN partners with the individuals and families it serves- greater numbers now more than ever before- to provide a positive impact through individualized support, educational programs, and activities such as Poz Cafe.
If you can, please use the impetus of my El Tour ride to support TIHAN. My fundraising page is: http://www.PledgeReg.com/352697
Thanks, and happy trails! Steve
