Dear Family and Friends,
I am riding 50 miles this year, in The Ride for Mental Health in New Paltz, NY on June 24-25!! Many of you know we lost our mom in 2020. My mom had endless stories, gifts to share, and a heart full of love and music. We loved singing together. We miss her tremendously and are reminded of her super soul each time a bird sings and the cows “ladies” are out in the fields. To honor our mom, we are raising money and awareness by riding in The Ride for Metal Health. My mom battled with mental health struggles most of her adult life and watching her ride through the challenges is part of our stories. Through it all, mom found strength in lifting others, especially with her writing and cards.
My brother discovered this awesome organization a few years ago and I’m thrilled to participate again! Last year we raised over $2,000 for the McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. The Ride for Mental Health’s Mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
If you were in any way moved by my mother – our story- or anyone that has suffered at the hands of #mentalhealth, please donate to this cause, and support me to #RideAwaytheStigma associated with #mentalillness through education, awareness, and raising money for this ride.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your contributions and support!
The Ride for Mental Health 2023
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
