It has almost been 6 years since I lost my brother who struggled with Schizophrenia. To honor his memory I will be participating in the Ride for Mental Health with the goal to complete the full 100 miles, to spread awareness, and raise money for the cause.
My brother spend many nights at different hospitals around Massachusetts, with McLean giving some of the best care he received. To be able to participate in an event where 100% of the proceeds will go to future patients and families means a lot. Mental health is a topic that is often overlooked but is on the minds of myself, my wife, and my family every day. Any donation you can give will help to keep McLean hospital continue to give a high level of care, and to support future rides and events to happen.
We greatly appreciate your contribution to this worthwhile cause. Thank you for your support!
The Ride for Mental Health 2023
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
