In 2023, we lost our dear friend, our SAAS Cycling Coordinator & Social Media Manager, Eduardo Aguirre. Eduardo had a terminal illness - depression. He rode his handcycle for therapy, for joy, in pursuit of better mental & physical health. Eduardo spent many hours riding The Loop alone or with others, introducing many people with disabilities to the benefits of adaptive cycling.
SAAS is starting the Eduaro Aguirre Adaptive Cycling Fund to help others with their journey to better health. This fund will support a new SAAS Adaptive Cycling Center. Funds will support equipment for people who want to try a handcycle, recumbent or other adaptive cycle.
Join our sponsor Ascension Wheelchair Lifts / My Omeo on the Ascension Cycling Team (ACT) to raise funds & awareness for adaptive cycling and mental health. By riding with the ACT Team you will ride along side of people with disabilities using handcycles, trikes, tandems and other adaptive cycles in pursuit of better physical & mental health.
Donations will go to the Eduardo Aguirre Adaptive Cycling Fund through Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports. Thank you!
