South County Community Services
Every day, we’re fighting poverty. Combatting hunger. Providing safer housing. Opening access to health care. Giving life-saving rides.
We’re South County Community Services, and we are the only human service agency in the southern region of Kalamazoo County dedicated to serving nearly 10,000 of our neighbors who live in poverty or have difficulty meeting basic needs such as food, transportation, utilities, and healthcare expenses.
We connect those who need support with all the services they need, including:
- Home repairs for seniors allowing them age in their own homes
- Emergency financial assistance
- Food pantry
- WIC assistance
- Home-delivered meals for seniors
- Foot care clinic
- Legal clinic
- Transportation for seniors and others with disabilities
- Veteran’s services
One in three of our neighbors struggles. When one of them comes to us for help, we connect them with all of the services they need.
Our goal is that no one falls through the cracks. Today you can help. Grab those wheels and ride on Team SCCS!
BFK's Multi-Charity Bikeathon
On Saturday, September 18, our organization will participate in a Charity Bikeathon organized by Bike Friendly Kalamazoo! We are thrilled to be one of more than a dozen non-profits taking part in this inaugural community event.
We hope you can join in the fun -- by riding for our team -- by helping us find donors -- or by donating yourself. Please support our cause and make this a successful event. It would be great if you could join us in the wonderful timber-framed Vicksburg Community Pavilion, right next to the grounds of the lovingly maintained and curated Vicksburg Historic Village.
Bike Friendly Kalamazoo
We are Riding For A Reason -- and hope you support my Team in this wonderful multi-charity event.
Our charity is taking advantage of Bike Friendly Kalamazoo's experience as a fellow non-profit to make our participation in this fun fundraiser a success and to help us raise funds during challenging times.
