UCPIE Team Freedom at the 24th Annual Tour de Palm Springs February 12, 2022: We are so excited to be together again!

In 2020 and 2021, as we faced a global pandemic, a local Rancho Mirage non-profit was responsive and focused in continuing to serve special needs families. Since 1985, United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE) has provided programs and services to children and adults with autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other special needs; and last year the services did not cease. UCPIE staff quickly adapted to change and created a PPE distribution program in addition to producing a completely virtual educational program operating on Zoom Mondays thru Fridays; serving both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

As UCPIE digested the learnings revealed by the pandemic and social disruptions, it remained committed to their mission to provide a "life without limits" to people with disabilities. These are challenging times, with much work to do as we look ahead; but the mission and vision of UCPIE continues to shine bright each day. UCPIE, would like to invite you to ride, walk or become a sponsor for UCPIE's Team Freedom and join us in person on February 12 or socially distanced from your neighborhood or local park.

Created by UCPIE in 2012, UCPIE Team Freedom is the largest team of children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities in a non-competitve cycling event in the United States. Team Freedom started with just one rider. It now has over 100 special needs kids and adults riding/walking the Tour de Palm Springs.

Tour de Palm Springs is a CVSPIN organized event designed to raise money for nonprofit organizations in the Coachella Valley. Each year the organizers endeavor to support almost 100 local charities with money raised. Every dollar raised in the Coachella Valley stays in the Coachella Valley.
