Hello dear Family and Friends,
**Apologies if you are receiving this email again...I am still having tech-trouble (haha, whew!) but wanting to get the word out :-)
You know how much cycling has meant to Jake's stroke recovery and to our family! This year I will ride in the El Tour de Tucson once again, but am able to ride and fundraise for the Friends of Aphasia center---their work helps people with aphasia, but also raises awareness of aphasia---Aphasia is NOT the loss of intelligence, but rather the loss of communication (speaking, understanding, reading, writing). Of course, all strokes are different and the effects of aphasia are different for each person. **the folks over at Friends of Aphasia introduced us to Dan Zimmerman, the wonderful founder of SpokesFightingStrokes, the cycling group Jake and we ride with!
With your kind donations, I am hoping to allow for more people to benefit from the programs offerered at Friends of Aphasia!
Fondly, Sandy...haha, this year, instead of riding 100 miles, I will ride 100 kilometers (62 miles)!
