Welcome to my fundraising page! I am so excited to participate in the BRAT and hope that you would join me in participating or fundraising!
The Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee would not be possible without Tennessee Park Rangers. Those of you that have ridden the BRAT before know what a huge role they play. Our Rangers volunteer their time to patrol our routes in an effort to keep our riders as safe as possible. Not only are they law enforcement officers, but most have medical training. They are ready to help riders with anything from dehydration, to handling problems on the route, to providing evening entertainment such as recreational canoe floats. They volunteer at the BRAT because our riders are awesome and so they will become eligible for scholarship opportunities.
All donations go to the Tennessee Park Rangers Association (TPRA). The TPRA is dedicated to promoting professionalism and raising hiring standards, improving communications, upgrading working conditions, supporting and participating in active training programs, and addressing common concerns among the members of the Tennessee Park Rangers Association and those individuals representing Tennessee State Parks.
Thank you for any amount that you are able to give!
Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee
The Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee (BRAT) is dedicated to providing the best bike tour in the US. The BRAT is like no other ride you'll ever participate in, it is sponsored by Tennessee State Parks with a goal of introducing people to parks and the beauty that Tennessee has to offer. The special thing about this ride is Tennessee Park Rangers work the entire event! From setting up registration, marking routes, providing safety on the routes with blue lights, helping at SAG stops, and even providing educational programs after the daily rides. 100% of the funds go to non-profit organizations that support Tennessee State Parks and their Rangers. The main benefactors are The Cumberland Trail, which will be the first through trail in TN, and the Tennessee Park Rangers Association!
This year, the BRAT will be September 14-19, 2024. Each day riders will have multiple routes to choose from depending on their goals for the day. You- can expect to see routes between 25-100 miles throughout the week. All routes will be supported by our Tennessee Park Rangers and volunteers. Being supported by us means you can expect fully stocked SAG stops every 15-20 miles which include water, Gatorade, fresh fruit, nutritious snacks, bathrooms, and friendly faces along the way, Rangers running the routes with their blue lights on to alert motorists of your presence, and our awesome mechanic that is never too far away in case you have a bike mishap.
The Tennessee Park Rangers Association's mission is. "To promote professionalism and raise hiring standards, improve communications, upgrade working conditions, support and participate in active training programs, and champion common concerns among the members of the Tennessee Park Rangers Association and those individuals representing Tennessee State Parks."
