Hi friends and neighbors,
The picture you are seeing to the left is from Anchorage, Alaska last month. This is how I trained for the CVIM bike fundraiser. As I rode past this mother moose with twin babies, she lifted her head and we locked eyes (bad move on my part). She charged towards me and I rode away extremely fast. . Wasn't scared until I heard her hooves on the bike path. Fortunately her motherly instincts came through and she returned to her babies to protect them from the next biker (my husband). That's me in the light colored jacket pedaling like crazy away from the moose. Would not recommend training for the 1/2 metric century ride for CVIM this way but it sure raised my heart rate and added a 1/4 mile sprint to my workout!
The Central Cycling Classic is in it's 16th year and is a non-competitive cycling event created to raise awareness and support for the important mission of Centre Volunteers in Medicine. CVIM is a non profit organization that provides dental and medical care to our uninsured neighbors living or working in Centre County.
Please join with me in supporting CVIM through your donation to my ride. I will ride the 31 miles with much gratitude for moose safety and your generous donations to help our Centre County neighbors.
Thanks in advance,
Linda Eggebeen
