For 44 years, Literacy Volunteers has provided free, one-on-one tutoring to adults in basic reading and writing, and conversational English for speakers of other languages. Tutors meet with students weekly, tailoring lessons to meet their individual needs, abilities, and goals. 

Donations to LVBC fund tutor training, books, service coordination, and outreach, as well as online resources for tutoring. The organization has served over 100 learners annually since 1980, empowering them to gain citizenship, secure good jobs, and embrace new opportunities. By participating in this and other LVBC events, you are helping us continue to do this vital work to support our community!
