Thank you for helping me support Local Motion's mission to make it safe, accessible, and fun for everyone to bike, walk, and roll in Vermont.
The Quarter Century
This year mark’s Local Motion’s 25th Anniversary, in other words, our Quarter Century! We are celebrating on bike and foot with The Quarter Century. Join us on August 11 for a ride, a walk, or just to party!
Our friends at Snow Farm Vineyards & Winery will be hosting us, both as a starting point and as The Quarter Century Party venue. Find event details on BikeReg
As part of our Quarter Century celebration, we are inviting you to participate in a little friendly competition, raising funds to support our mission. Create a team with your friends, coworkers, family, local bike group, or whoever! Or participate solo to claim all the fundraising glory.
Note that fundraising is not required to participate in our Quarter Century event, simply an additional way to help support Local Motion's work!
Prizes are available for individuals at three fundraising levels:
Bronze: $50+
Local Motion water bottle + stickers
Silver: $250+
Above + 3 entries to our VBT raffle
Gold: $500+
Bivo Water Bottle (+stickers) + 6 entries to our VBT raffle
About us
Local Motion was founded in 1999 with a singular (and improbable) goal: to get people on bikes across the mouth of the Winooski River, where the Burlington Bike Path then came to an end.
Since then, we have grown to become Vermont's statewide advocate for active transportation, vibrant communities, and safe streets. Our mission is simple: Making it safe, accessible, and fun for everyone to bike, walk, and roll in Vermont.
We know there is no one solution that will work for every community. That's why our work ranges from on-the-ground advocacy and community organizing and project-specific technical assistance to workshops and classes for all ages and bike-friendly resources for businesses and communities.
Our Values
At Local Motion, our values are Collaboration, Passion, Diversity, Inclusion & Equity, integrity, Financial Responsibility, Altruism, and Professionalism.
Our Vision
More people will walk, bike, and roll in Vermont for recreation and transportation, improving their health while benefiting local communities and the environment. Local Motion is Vermont’s leading resource for all issues related to walking, biking, and rolling.
