Here we are five years later and I am excited to have my best ride yet! Logan and our family have come so far over the last four years and the Ride for Mental Health has been a part of ourhealing process.
In 2018 my family began their battle with mental health when our son was diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD. During this time we sought out many doctors and help with getting control of these disorders. What we learned is that when it comes to juvenile mental health disorders there are very limited resources.
Like most of us, we relied on our medical insurance and in- network doctors, who prescribed medications that caused our son to become depressed and suicidal at eight years old. After two hospitalizations and finally finding amazing out of network doctors and therapists, the problem was identified, and Logan began and continues to receive the treatment that he needs. Today, Logan is thriving in school, making friends, is on the swim and even plays the guitar in concerts!
In 2019 I road in my first The Ride for Mental Health. The outpouring of support for my family was amazing. Through social media, family, friends and even stranger’s donations poured in. It was truly a humble experience, and I am grateful for the support we have received.
We are all affected by mental health or know someone who is. Please help The Ride For Mental Health in this year’s ride by donating to our team. Together we can work to end the stigma surrounding mental health, ensuring that people get the help they need before it is too late.
100% of rider pledges will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.
We greatly appreciate your contribution to this worthwhile cause. Thank you for your support!
The Ride for Mental Health 2023
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
