This race is important to me and this year in particular is significant! 

I ran this race for the first time 10 years ago. Back in 2015, I was a new(ish) mom, seeking something for myself while also wanting to make a difference for those impacted by cancer. My mother had recently been diagnosed with liposarcoma, and I wanted to honor her and others facing similar challenges. Over the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to support this race in various ways—whether as a runner, fundraiser, or volunteer. Along the way, cancer has touched even more people I know, including my mother, who lost her battle 5 years ago this winter. 

I’m proud to run again for a cause that means so much to me, and to pay it forward by raising funds for an organization that helps local individuals impacted by cancer. All proceeds go to Cancer Connection, which offers its services free of charge, making a real difference in people’s lives.

The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon has been supporting Cancer Connection for 14 years - help us make the 15th the biggest and best! .

This race is one of extremely FEW that operate on donation. Race expenses are kept to a minimum, yet we try to make the runners' experience top-notch. This race has a vibe of gratitude, appreciation and so much love. Not only are runners happy to run, volunteers are happy to help and cancer-warriors are happy to benefit from the free services provided by Cancer Connection.

It is truly The BEST half in Western Mass! This race makes an impact!
