As in 2023 and 2024, on Saturday, August 9, 2025 I hope to once again ride in the ODRAM ("One Day Ride Across Michigan") event and make the one day 160 mile ride across the State of Michigan, from Meinert Beach on Lake Michigan to Bay City State Park on the shores of Lake Huron.
Along with hundreds of riders from around the world, I will ride ODRAM to raise money for Breakthrough T1D, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes ("T1D") research.
T1D:
- Strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.
- Occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy.
- Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
Breakthrough T1D is working every day to change this. And every dollar I raise in connection with the ODRAM ride in August 2025 helps them continue to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.
