Hi all! Last year I got to participate in person for the 2nd Run With The Wild 5k/10k hosted annually in Hood River, OR. The area is close to home and friends of mine put in a boatload of work to make this happen. For the 2025 event I'm running here in North Carolina where I'm on a burn crew! As many of you know I've been working in forestry and fire the last 4 years and I plan to continue working as a wildland firefighter this year. :)
Prior to the event, we have the chance to raise as much money as we can. 100% of your donation goes to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation to help our wounded firefighters & support families of the fallen. The team, and individual, who raise the most money on their fundraiser page get awarded a plaque on event day (April 12th, 2025)!
This is such an important cause - please help us raise money for the people that keep our communities safe! I'm supporting my own community and would love to see more folks do the same for all of us. Now more than ever we need everyone in wildland fire to be supported and recognized for their commitment to people & planet.

Run With The Wild
Join us for the 3rd Annual Run With The Wild 5k, a community-oriented 5k and 10k run/walk that is suitable for individuals of all ages, families, and even our furry friends! This event will be held in the beautifully scenic Columbia River Gorge, commencing at the Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead. This paved route is ADA accessible, allowing for wheelchairs and strollers, and offers breathtaking views of the river and mountains along the way. 100% of proceeds for this event are donated directly to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. Additionally, a silent auction an event drawing will be held - enter for your chance to win amazing prizes from local PNW businesses.

The Wildland Firefighter Foundation’s main focus is to help families of firefighters killed in the line of duty and to assist injured firefighters and their families.
