Thank you for visiting my pledge page.
There are multiple things I can say about the importance of mental health, and even more reasons for why I am choosing to ride over 100 miles (160k) and climb over 5000 feet (1524m) in one day at age 58, but listing them would take up too much time and space. There are so many causes and people that I wish I could support and help, but I don’t have the time or resources. So, I chose one that has affected my life (my friends, family, and loved ones) and many unknown and uncounted lives. The stigma of mental health issues prevents many people from getting the help they need to push past the roadblocks preventing them from becoming a healthier and better person. Your donation can help someone change their life in such a significant way that it can impact others. Please give what you can, even if it is only $5.00 (or less). Small donations add up to a significant amount of help and healing.
Thank you!
The Ride for Mental Health 2025
The Ride for Mental Health is one of the first rides in the country to benefit mental health. The proceeds raised will be donated to McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, for the education, research, and treatment of mental illness including anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse. Our mission is to raise funds for McLean so that we can help accelerate the progress being made to help others who suffer from mental illness.
We also hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and awareness. The promotion of this ride is a start. Many if not most of us are touched by close friends and relatives who have suffered from one type or another of mental illness.
