Positive Cycology Ride
Positive Cycology Ride is a fundraiser bike ride to support The Art Room, which is a nonprofit art studio for people with mental health issues. The Art Room's mission is to encourage healing and recovery through expressive art experiences for people who face mental health challenges. We aim to promote art as a means of coping and as a method for creating greater resilience in managing emotions and stress. The Art Room is mostly volunteer based, and has enrolled over 500 people in the Denton area as members over the five years we 've been open, and our numbers are growing.
The Art Room's Positive Cycology Ride fundraiser aims to support The Art Room in its mission, as well as promote the physical and mental health benefits of riding a bike. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and National Bike Month, we want to bring awareness to The Art Room's mission, and to other ways that support one's mental health, such as physical exercise. We hope to engage the community in a fun bike riding activity that is accessible to everyone, both family-friendly and challenging.
We will have a post-ride celebration at East Side Denton, 117 E. Oak St., with local food trucks after the ride. With your registration, you'll get a free drink ticket, and a free raffle ticket making you eligible for some amazing raffle prizes. You can also purchase raffle tickets at the check-in/registration table to improve your chance of winning. We plan to have live music and lots of fun celebrating the ride and The Art Room's mission.
