Thanks for visiting my Moonlight Ramble Fundraising page!
I love cycling! In fact, my Cannondale F400 mountain bike is my daily driver for my commute in to work. When I recently moved into the third ward, I was amazed at how bike friendly the city of Houston has become. I can get almost anywhere inside the loop on a bike. The work BikeHouston has done has been a big part of making Houston a more bike friendly city. Their ongoing efforts to eliminate bike fatalities is key to growing the ridership of this city.
On October 24th I will be participating in BikeHouston's Moonlight Bicycle Ramble. This is a nighttime bike ride benefiting BikeHouston and is their most important fundraiser of the year.
Some of BikeHouston's recent accomplishments include:
- getting the city to embrace BikeHouston's Goal Zero Fatalities
- starting work on the Houston Bike Plan
- engaging City Council and Mayoral candidates
- expanding a city wide Vision Zero campaign to include all road users
By donating to my page you will be helping BikeHouston make our city a better, safer place to ride for everyone.
Thanks for your help!
BikeHouston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to transform our city by creating safe bikeways to improve the quality of life of all Houstonians. We do this through partnering with the City and other organizations to expand the mileage and access to high-quality bike lanes and trails, to educate all road users, and to enhance enforcement of the laws that save lives.
- Our advocacy work focuses on ensuring that bicyclists’ needs are included in government work from planning to construction to law enforcement. We use the power of our members to drive change.
- Our community education programs teach motorists about cyclists’ rights and cyclists about their rights and responsibilities. We also host events designed to empower everyone to start riding a bike.Who We Are
We are the only non-profit bicycle advocacy group in Houston. We started as an all-volunteer non-profit in 2004. In 2014 we transitioned to be professionally staffed and are positioned to continue growing in order to transform Houston into a bikeable city. Thanks to our members, donors, and sponsors, we now have high caliber staff and board that are progressing biking in Houston faster than ever before.
