I have had the honor of serving as President of the EFVA board, and as a Neurologist with spcial training and interest in epilepsy, I have a passion for caring for those with epilepsy.  I am also fortunate to be employed by Bon Secours Neurology Clinics  where we strive to live out the mission of the Sisters of Bon Secours, providing good help to those in need.  The mission of EFVA is also to provide assistance to those in need. 

I wish to support the Tour de Midnight and Epilepsy Foundation, VA, because it is EFVA's mission to dispel the many myths surrounding epilepsy and to support those affected by epilepsy.  EFVA is there to educate the public about epilepsy. They let people know that those affected by epilepsy and seizures have a safer work record with less absenteeism. They let people know that epilepsy is no obstacle to safe parenting with certain precautions.  

EFVA also provides education regarding seizure safety to teachers, bus drivers, police and rescue workers, daycare providers, the public at large, and anyone else who asks.  EFVA provides direct assistance to those with epilepsy including medication assistance, travel assistance, employment counseling, etc. 

One of the signature programs of EFVA is the "Wear a Helmet Prevent Epilepsy Campaign" which is what inspired the concept of the Tour de Midnight. Please help them advocate for the 80,000 persons with epilepsy in Virginia. Please contribute to my team or to another team so that the mission can continue.  Please sign up to ride and encourage your friends to do the same.
