Welcome to my fundraising page for the 9th annual Will Bike 4 Food! This is a fun and active cyling event that helps raise funds and awareness for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Every $1 raised will provide 3 meals for a neighbor in need. Contributions of any size to my efforts are appreciated. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you!
On Sunday, September 29 We will once again participate in the WILL BIKE FOR FOOD Food Bank of Western MA Fundraising Bike Ride.
I love the tagline for the ride "FOUR ROUTES. ONE DESTINATION. A COMMUNITY WITHOUT HUNGER."
I love that our kids are enthusiastic to make a difference in their community and that there is a ride of just the right length to let them participate. The four of us will ride the 10 mile route (which oddly is 12 miles long) and we are seeking sponsors.
You can sponsor our team at https://www.pledgereg.com/3056/t/LockeFamily.
The kids are also determined to earn some of the money themselves this year and have entrepreneurial ideas ranging from a car wash in the front yard of our house, to soap making sales and lemonade stands, so if you live near us, you may also choose to support them that way (Please note that pledges made through the web page are documented as tax deductible. Cash donations given to the kids will be submitted to the food bank but won't get the same tax documentation)
Attached is a page our family wrote together about why we bike for food, if you'd like to read the answer to WHY DOES OUR FAMILY DO WILL BIKE FOR FOOD? in their own words.
Thanks for any support or encouragement you can offer us and the Food Bank of Western MA for this event.

Since 1982, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. We distribute food to our member agencies in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties. These independent pantries, meal sites and shelters are on the front lines of emergency food assistance in our region, playing a crucial role helping individuals, families, seniors and children. Every $1 donated to The Food Bank can purchase 4 meals for a family who needs them most.
