I was asked by a friend if I wanted to join a charity bike ride.…and I thought - sure, why not, I love biking!….and what could be more fun than biking with friends. Turns out we will be riding 69 miles from Sandwich to Provincetown in the Second Summer Cycle Charity Ride on September 15, 2024.
I have joined the Resilient Roots team. They are a small Cape Cod based environmental education non-profit empowering people to transform suburban spaces into edible, native landscapes that regenerate our ecosystem's health, restore pollinator habitat, mitigate climate change, and reconnect us to the earth and to one another. They run educational workshops, help design organic and native plant backyard gardens, and also partner with Habitat for Humanity to design and install edible gardens for new homeowners.
As much as I love biking I love gardening and being able to support a charity that speaks to my love of nature and gardening seems like a ‘no brainer’.
Resilient Roots is part of the Youth Athletic team but 100% of the money that I raise will go directly to Resilient Roots.
My goal in fundraising is a minimum of $500.00. I am hoping to raise more. If you are able to make a donation, I sincerely thank you.
...…the training has begun…Hills of Truro here we come!
