On October 6, 2024, I will take on the challenge of the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo bicycling event. This year, the event is featured in the Gran Fondo National Series and my participation will be featured on a national stage. I'm also riding in support of the Cancer Journeys Foundation.

The Cancer Journeys Foundation’s mission is to provide the knowledge, support, and community that cancer survivors need to develop and implement cancer survivorship plans and cancer survivor journey maps. Highlights include:

Bicycling to Beat Cancer
The Cancer Journeys Foundation presents many opportunities to encourage and support a healthy and active lifestyle through cycling, including: "Your Ride Around the World," a 24,906.1-mile challenge; STRAVA King and Queen of the Mountains Competition; the CJF SPRINT Competition; and the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo cycling event.

The Prostate Cancer Awareness Project
Each year in the United States, approximately 240,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer - that's one man every 17 minutes. On average, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is that research shows prostate cancer is very treatable, but only if it is discovered early, before it has metastasized. According to the American Cancer Society, survival rates are nearly 100-percent for men with prostate cancer that is found while it is still within the prostate gland or nearby areas.
