At least a dozen years ago, my dear friend from college posted a video on Facebook of her family skiing. Pretty normal, right? Not so much - one of her children has disabilities that prevent him from being able to ski independently with the rest of the family. That day, he was using a ski chair, a piece of equipment that I now know costs almost $7000, and a couple of guides to enjoy a sport I've enjoyed without even thinking about since I was three years old. He was whooping and hollaring and having a great time and was part of his family's outing.

So, last year, I joined the Team 2 Empower fundraising team for the Vermont 100. One of the hardest 100 mile races in the US, started by the woman who founded Vermont Adaptive as the primary fundraiser. You all helped me be in the top 10 fundraisers, which garnered me extra cheers along the way, and I completed the 100 miler and won my age group. I wear my belt buckle with pride and thank all of you who contributed last year.

This year, Vermont Adapative has secured $100,000 in matching funds for Giving Tuesday!!! I'd like to surpass my fundraising from last year and hope to raise at least $2000 on Giving Tuesday. Please support this wonderful organization that opens up the great outdoors, all year round, to children and adults with all types of disabilities - physical, cognitive, mental health concerns, and around 30% of its programming is for providing a safe space for Veterans to gather and enjoy the great outdoors.

THANK YOU!!
