Barnstable Land Trust (BLT) is a community-supported nonprofit whose mission is to preserve the natural resources and special places in the Town of Barnstable and nearby areas, for present and future generations.
By riding and fundraising for BLT in the Tour de Barnstable, you are helping protect the natural spaces and places that keep our water clean, provide habitat for plants and animals, and encourage people to explore and appreciate the outdoors.
A little bit about us:
- We work with landowners to protect their land for conservation;
- We build and maintain trails and steward over 1,100 acres of land in Barnstable;
- Our programs include guided walks, talks, and other educational programs;
- Our trail guide, which can be found in libraries and online, features 34 hiking spots and covers almost 95 miles of trails.
Whether you've hiked every trail in Barnstable or you are new to the Cape, we have a place for you. We invite you to join us for a wide variety of programs to learn more about our local ecology, wildlife and more and to sign up for our bi-monthly newsletter.
