Women Warriors has developed a program conducive to growth and learning aimed at helping homeless and at-risk female Veterans transition into sustainable employment and permanent housing by offering support, health & wellness, training and other services at no cost to the Veteran. Through its programs, Women Warriors reaches out to the community to provide support and services that only an organization tailored to the unique individual need of female Veterans can offer. Its community events, training programs, and opportunities provided through its other services and opportunities including Wendy's Collection Boutique, which provides no-cost clothing, accessories and home goods to program Veterans, provide important opportunities for participants and families to heal and grow in a supportive and non-threatening environment.
Women Warriors started in October of 2016 as a resource fair specifically targeting female Veterans where they provided resources, clothing, hygiene and a small family of 3 with a wonderful Christmas. That was when they realized that there was a need. In 2017, WW hosted another resource fair where they provided the same as their first but reached over 40 female Veterans.
In 2018, WW decided that they could do more than just provide these basic necessities, so that is when Women Warriors became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. With this status WW collected monetary donations and was able to provide 12 female Veterans with assistance for rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance, car repairs and food. In that same year they hosted their 3rd Annual Women Warriors Event and helped over 104 female Veterans with basic hygiene essentials, clothing, and resources. 2019, was no different than any other year with the exception of assisting over 185 female Veterans at the 4th Annual Women Warriors Event and 26 with emergency financial assistance. On top of all of that they opened their 1st Women Warriors office at the Warrior Healing Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona and assisted 7 women there. Women Warriors continues assisting female Veterans during the pandemic in 2020 with assisting 14 female Veterans with emergency assistance and continues to do so throughout 2021 with 12 women so far.
In November of 2020, Women Warriors opened up their 2nd location in Tucson, Arizona and Tucson's first and only female Veteran resale boutique called Wendy's Collection Boutique. There they provide more services, and basic necessities along with clothing at no cost to the program Veteran.
Women Warriors feels that with the continued support of the local community and her amazing volunteers, Women Warriors and Wendy's Collection Boutique will thrive and succeed so that they can continue to serve our local female Veteran community the best that they know how.
