Hello Friend and Family,
Running is one of the greatest gifts in my life. It provides joy, adventure, peace and challenge. It continuously provides opportunites to grow and learn, and I can take those lessons off the trail and into life. For me it is running, but for you it could be sailing or hiking or skiing or mountain biking that gets you into nature and brings you joy. In July, I will be taking on my biggest running challenge yet- the Vermont 100K. That's 62 miles in the middle of summer on rolling Vermont roads and trails. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to participate in this event, and I'm happy that my participation will not only benefit me and help me reach my goals. This time, the goal is bigger than that. I have joined Team Run to Empower in order to support Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports.
There are people out there for whom just getting out to walk can be a challenge. People who need a little extra assistance to meet the challenge that brings health, fun and passion to their lives. Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports provides sports and recreational programs as well as wellness and environmental retreats to people with disabilities.. Their programs are offered to people of all ages, with a variety of disabilities. Participants come to Vermont from all over to join programs include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and Nordic in the winter; and sailing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more in the warmer months. Vermont Adaptive offers financial support for anyone who needs it to participate.
Please consider donating what you can to help me reach my goal and help Vermont Adaptive meet their goal too!
Thank you!
Erica
