I ride my bicycle. Somedays I don't ride enough. Somedays I ride too hard and too long. Some friends wonder why I do the latter. I am an almost 40-year-old woman racing a bicycle. I'm not heading to the Olympics. I'm not destined for a career as a pro-cyclist. I am a full-time mom. I am a full-time engineer. I found this sport later in life, and I love it. It has given me confidence and health in all aspects of my life. When I ride and train, I am challenged to push through pain and sometimes negativity in my head. When I ride, train, and race, I ride with a purpose.
I ride for Team ERRACE, presented by DSO Manufacturing. ERRACE stands for Everyone Ride/Run Against Cancer Everyday. I am humbled to ride with a team of such strong male and female amateur racers and driven individuals. All of the team’s winnings go to ERRACE and we ride in support of ERRACE all year. Please take a moment and sponsor my participation in the upcoming ERRACE ride on July 16th by making a donation to ERRACE. Every donation benefits The Hartford Hospital Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center and the Livestrong Foundation. The Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center is a nationally-recognized center for the treatment of patients with cancer, and one of the largest of its kind in the Northeast United States. It houses not only many talented and experienced medical specialists and support personnel, but the latest in technologic equipment to provide cutting edge, state-of-the-art care. More than 50,000 patient visits are made annually to this Center.
Our cause is important to me. I've lost so many loved ones and family members to cancer in my lifetime. I truly believe the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer center is making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Please join me in supporting Team ERRACE today.
